Week 5 Ship It Anyway: How to Launch Before You Feel âReadyâ
Ever stared at your projectâhalf-finished course, draft website, prototype appâand thought:
âIâll launch it when itâs perfect.â
Spoiler: perfect is a myth, and your launch date just expired⌠again.
The Myth of âReadyâ
Weâve been taught that readiness is a destination: the certificates collected, the portfolio flawless, the stars aligned. But in tech (and life), you donât wait for readyâyou create momentum by shipping.
Think about your favourite apps. Were they perfect at version 1.0? Nope. They launched, listened, and iterated.
Why Women in Tech Delay Launches
Itâs not just perfectionism. Itâs:
Fear of being judged (by louder voices in the room)
Overthinking every detail (hello, 47 colour palette options)
Carrying the extra mental load of ârepresenting all womenâ
But hereâs the truth: your first version isnât the final version. Itâs your proof of courage.
Step 1: Define Minimum Viable Courage (MVC)
Not minimum viable productâminimum viable courage.
Ask yourself: Whatâs the smallest version I can ship that still shares my idea with the world?
It might be:
A beta sign-up page
A 3-slide pitch deck
A soft launch to a small group of trusted testers
Step 2: Launch, Log, Learn
Launch it (yes, even if your logoâs a bit âmehâ).
Log feedback (good, bad, neutral).
Learn and release version 1.1.
Every iteration is a win.
Step 3: Celebrate the Imperfect
Perfectionism isnât a badge of honourâitâs a delay tactic dressed in productivity cosplay.
Launchers learn. Waiters wonder.

Your Next Step
Pick one project youâve been hiding behind ânot ready yet.â
Define its MVC.
Commit to a ship dateâthis week, not someday.
Add that to your Tech Wins Folder (see Week 1).
